Healthy Eating Guidelines Introduction
As a Women's Health Coach I feel it's critical to share with you some Healthy Eating Guidelines. An important part of enjoying good health is to be mindful of what food you put into your body, when and how often. There's such a wealth of information out there about food and diets (much of it conflicting and the emphasis is not always placed on healthy eating) so I want to give you some healthy eating tips that are easy to follow and should have you feeling great in no time. My guidelines on healthy eating start with a look at what constitutes a healthy balanced diet. Here you'll discover the food pyramid showing what proportions of different food types should be making up your diet. It also includes a clear guide to food portion sizes. To understand the nutritional benefits each food group gives you and your body, click on the links below: - Proteins
- Carbohydrates
- Fruit and Vegetables
- Fats and Oils
- Fiber and Water
Following on from this, I suggest you take a look at the page on healthy foods to eat. Here you will find a list of individual foods and their nutrients. This makes it easy for you to choose meals which contain all the key nutrients and ensure that you are eating a healthy balanced diet. The healthiest food is always that which is bought or grown fresh then prepared and cooked by yourself (or someone you know who's a dab hand in the kitchen!). You'll find it useful therefore to check out my Top 10 Healthy Cooking Tips to assist you in creating delicious, healthy meals. The above focuses mainly on WHAT food you eat. Also important is HOW and WHEN you eat, so click on to my Top 10 Healthy Eating Habits to discover a good all round approach to healthy eating.
